Facilitate Ride Matching
Metro Transit offers a free rideshare database for everyone in the Twin Cities metro looking to share a ride to work or a specific place. This database can be tailored to only allow access to employees, tenants, or other people within the building, or it can be opened up to the entire region. Other buildings and employers offer ride share boards on site to aid employees and tenants in finding potential ride matches from within the building. Existing programs range from a map that employees can stick a push pin in their home location with a phone extension to sophisticated databases that will match employees with other employees. Offer Ride Share Incentives
Discounted parking, preferred parking spaces, or monthly gas cards are just a few of the incentives that can be offered to those who register with building management as being in a carpool. These programs can be very effective in reducing the need for parking.
The Parking $mart program provides carpooling incentives to individuals by subsidizing half of their parking costs at qualified ramps. Interested employees must register their carpool and agree to participate in a series of surveys to participate. Learn more.
