Frogtown Crew leaves their mark this summer

Frogtown Block Party2

The Frogtown Crew finished up their summer outreach in style with a final block party at the corner of Charles and Avon.

Hundreds of neighbors came out to celebrate the completion of the Charles Bike Boulevard and help the crew leave their mark on the neighborhood with a Paint the Pavement project at the intersection.

Paint the Pavement projects work to build community while slowing traffic on streets. The crew worked in conjunction with the Friendly Streets Initiative to come up with a design that was right for their neighborhood all summer.

The final design that was painted at the block party is temporary – the intersection is getting repaved next year. The crew hopes to finish the project after the new pavement is installed next summer.

Next up for the Frogtown Crew

In the coming months, the crew be tabulating the results of the surveying they did in the neighborhood this year and making plans for next year. Keep on the lookout for updates this winter.
