Working Effectively From a Distance
Telework, or telecommuting, is a flexible work option utilizing today’s technology to eliminate the twice daily commute. It allows employees to work at a location other than their main office.
The employee’s home provides a good alternative because it allows the worker to be more productive with fewer distractions and allows greater concentration with longer periods of uninterrupted work time.
Flextime generally refers to an arrangement in which the employer allows employees to work their regular number of required hours but allows the employee flexibility to start and end work within an approved period of time.
Compressed Work Week
Defined as an option to work more hours per day but fewer days within a one- or two-week period, compressed work week variations include 9/80, 4/40, and 3/36. Compressed, or alternate, work schedules offer many benefits to both employers and employees. Learn more.
