Smart Trips Union Park

During the summer and fall of 2009, St. Paul Smart Trips brought our award-winning program to the Union Park district of St. Paul to connect residents with free resources, events, and activities to help them make "smart" trips: smart for their budgets, smart for the environment and smart for their health.

From July through November we mailed newsletters full of helpful tips and delivered – by bike! – free Smart Trips Kits, which are reusable tote bags full of personalized transportation resources and tools. We hosted free bike rides, guided walks and classes to help people explore their neighborhood without a car.

By focusing just on Union Park, we provided residents with the tools they needed to find smart ways to get around St. Paul and beyond.
