Meet Emily & Luke, our wonderful interns!

This spring we've been fortunate to have two talented and motivated interns from Macalester College, Emily Johnson (2012) and Luke Harris (2010).

Emily came to St. Paul Smart Trips with the hope that "it will be possible some day to travel all over the U.S. and not need to use a car to reach my destination." In her work here, Emily has been "immersed in everything from public policy to making people aware of the different transportation options available to them." She has spent the majority of her time doing outreach with the business community in Highland Park as part of the Smart Trips Neighborhoods program.

On campus, Luke has been a part of MacBike, the student organization that runs Macalester's bike share program and the campus bike shop. At St. Paul Smart Trips, Luke has been "grounding himself in St. Paul" by helping plan events for our Smart Trips Neighborhoods program this summer in Highland Park. Luke also has been instrumental in doing community outreach with Highland Park elementary schools and seniors.
