ACTION ALERT: Ramsey County needs to hear from you

Ramsey County needs to hear from you!

In June, the St. Paul City Council unanimously approved the inclusion of bicycle lanes on Front Avenue. The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners are now considering whether or not to include the lanes because of concerns about the loss of parking.

There is a lot of work to do to get Ramsey County on board with the city’s vision. Many of the routes on major streets in the plan are on Ramsey County roads, including Front Avenue. Building support from Ramsey County Commissioners is vital to ensure the St. Paul Bicycle Plan continues to move forward.

Take Action Now

Even if you don’t live near Front, elected officials need to hear from you.

Send and email and/or call your Ramsey County Commissioner. Find who represents you.
Be sure to copy Ramsey County Staff (kathy.jaschke@co.ramsey.mn.us)

Tell them your story about why Front Avenue is an important bike connection and let them know:

  • Bike lanes are a valuable asset to our community.
  • The Bicycle Plan public process has been extensive and thorough. A parallel county process is unnecessary.
  • Front Avenue should not be thought of in isolation. A missed connection in one neighborhood negatively impacts the entire bicycle network.
